Ghosting of other screens and Dark filter over movies

The ghosting appears when the macbook starts up! Also when I am watching movies, there is a dark filter across 96% of the screen (top to bottom) the other 4% to divided equally between the top & bottom! The pleasure of watching movies has been lost! Updates are loaded! Help please Team!!
